The first outing of the summer saw a good number of the squad meet at Minster cricket ground for an evening match. 20 overs per side were played.
It was very interesting to see the players the change in some players moving from indoors to outdoor cricket. The most notable change was in the bowling where a full run-up and grass surface showed strengths and weaknesses. Chris W and Patrick O batted very well in the first innings reluctantly retiring on 16 and 20 respectively. The stronger bowlers came on show in the second innings with 4 bowlers taking 2 wickets for very respectable averages. Luke E was the stand-out batsman hitting 22, including a maximum before being bowled by Will E.
A great first meeting and the start of real cricket for the season.
